Stress of Less

So, you experienced hardship. You have experienced pain. The almighty hand of life has taken your body and gripped it hard enough you'll pop like a pimple. You are ready to burst, let loose and scream bloody murder as if all is lost and everything has fallen from your hands in one day. But you wake for another. Your eye, still pondering the hour of no hope, sees a sunshine. So you have stress. You have something pressuring you from the outside or the inside, poking and making you curl into the fetal position. The thing is, when you think about it and look forward with some insight, you realize that the person causing stress is you. You are putting the weight of the world on your shoulders when in all actuality, there is no point to think about it as much.

So, you don't know what to do? You do not know how to free yourself from the evils of stress. Well guess what? I have a few tips from the experiences around life and my thoughts that can help free you and everyone's mind and let you all experience something that was just ... a dream before.

1.) Do Poetry ... I say do poetry instead of write for a reason. Poetry is an expression of ones thought, placed into either vocal or literary form. Most the time, you notice there are poetry books, prose, motto's, essays and even short and sweet things called Haiku's. Other forms could be in the form of free-styling/rapping or spoken word. Whatever is the choice of travel, this is something that could pry you from the claws of stress. Place thoughts into words, write something down, show the world inside and express what is within, around and coming forward for you. You could read some poetry to clear your mind. I'd recommend any author since poetry is subjective. Not into writing or reading? You can experience free-styling, rapping. Try your luck at some simple rhymes. Try to make a beat and groove to the sideshow of the mental train. Go out and enjoy a spoken word night at a club, festival of even between a few friends. You can enjoy it at home. Putting things into poetry always gives a good feeling as you have expressed something. It can even bring a smile.

2.) Drive Alive ... Driving. Go and jump in the car/truck/SUV, whatever you ride and just go and leave the house, work or whatever it is that is bogging you down at the moment. Pop in some tunes into your radio. Get a mix-tape\CD or a mp3 player, and let the soothing sounds of heartfelt vocals breed within the vehicle. Put the window down and let the world pass by in a vision of magic. I don't expect you to go jump on the interstate to free stress. Go out driving in the countryside on back roads. Go to a small town and experience another scene that you don't see everyday. An awesome place for a drive (which I believe) is to go through the mountains. The scenery, plus some pleasant tunes will be a good combination for a stress free day. Plan this trip, it might do you some good.

3.) Explore Culture ... Explore the city around you, the town's history, the state or country's past moments in time. If you live in a decent size area, or even a small county, there are places to visit. I do have the luck of living in Virginia, where it is rich in history, dating all the way back to the first settlement in Jamestown, so I do experience a lot and explore plenty of places around my home. I say to you, go explore your area. Experience the sites of a colonial era style house or even take a walk through an aquatic hallway at an aquarium. Haven't been on tour of a zoo? Go check out the tigers from Siberia. Haven't seen any historical or famous paintings? go to the art museums and see some renaissance art that might be awe inspiring. A trip through culture events is another way to break the mind of self-inflicting signs. Experience it all, it might do you well.

5.) Watch Fantasy ... Escape from this world with a little bit of mystery, sci-fi or suspense in a film. There are plenty of films that explore new worlds and new ideas of fantasy and reality. You could check out Avatar and explore the world of the Navi Pandora. My personal favorite and recommendation would be to sit down and watch the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Hold a day event with friends, order some pizza and explore the vast lands Eriador, the plains of Rohan and even the creeping sulking area of Mordor. A world like Middle Earth is a world worth the experience. From Hobbits and Elves to the exploration of the deep caves of Moria and lush forest of the Golden Wood ... it is an breathtaking that a world like this could exist. It is an escape from your stressed related life. Take a dip into the fantasy pool, swim and enjoy.

6.) Escape the Mind/Imagine ... All the stress in the world, it all can be relieved by a little bit of imagination. Escape your mind, escape your sights. Leave all senses down to the ground, close your eyes and mediate. Leave this world and go to a peaceful place. Create an image of smiles and sunshine. Find a place to relax on the beach, or even take a hike through the woods. The only thing holding you back from your own dreamworld is the stress of the real world. It is your own creation of reality that plagues the mind to think otherwise, shake and fall away. Shadows are abound, but the mind is yours to release. I believe that mediation works wonders, and would work for you. In the park or at home, during a rain day or even when the sun is bleeding wonderful rays, take it all as one ... mediate to release it all.

So for all the stress in the world, it takes one second to change everything in the mind. With few handy tips above, you can experience a stress free life. I do realize challenges await everyone, include me, but to face them like a knife to the heart is not worth thinking about. Put your mind to other things, and maybe you will live again and breathe
